Try giving the microphone end of the handset of the weaker one a sharp rap
or two on a table or counter. The mikes are carbon and the granules get
stuck together over time.

If that failes, try swapping the mike cartridges between the units. I(f
the problem swaps, you may need a new mike. Steve Hiltz may have them.

Did you buy the BD-71 at NEAR-fest too?
