Also designed for Cold War fixed air/ground, and military
air navigation facilities, the GRT-3 and GRR-7 were in the
same collection as the GRC-27. GRC-27 had a remote
control unit, (does C-806 ring a bell?) with the same 10
channels as the main equipment. GRC-27 had a design
problem with its remote channel select system. I solved
that, but never published. Trivia: The RG-17 coax leaked
at the top at the AT-197, and rain water ran down inside
the braid. And, the shrinkage or contraction of the insulation
around the center wire would pull the center pin back out of
the plug on the equipment. Fix: Take the connector off the
coax, cut the coax back about quarter of an inch and replace
the connector. That put the center pin back where it belonged.
