[Milsurplus] "condenser cleaners"

The condenser cleaner I used was an old one. To find and often remedy a
short in a tuning condenser, disconnect all the circuitry from the
stators, then feed 120 VAC to them through a 100 watt light bulb. Any
potmetal whiskers, wire shards, and other dirt was usually vaporized.
If the plates were actually touching, just look for the arc. Be
careful, and use an isolation transformer. Am I the only one left who
remembers this? Bruce Gentry KA2IVY
