Additional commentary if you use the navy power supply:
Don't use the input ballast tube.  It never worked as advertised.  It
will not protect against abrupt input voltage changes, and takes minutes
to stabilize.  Change the input voltage tap to 125 volts.
If B+ is over 180 volts the set will be too hot and difficult to
operate.  I had to change to choke input filter, and added output
capacitance to stop motorboating in the receiver.
The voltage dropping resistors for the 884 voltage regulator are carbon
resistors in a no ventilation area, and probably failed.  They were
selected to pass 40 ma, which is absurd to regulate 1/2 ma.  Increase to
pass about 5 ma and all will be well.  If your 884 is not regulating,
use a VR-90 plus a homemade socket adapter. The navy power supply has
line filters which are advantageous in keeping noise out of the RAK on
lf and mf, but not needed for the RAL.
