My experience was in C-54 and C-47.
Yes, the BC-375 was it.  The receiver
and the Key should have been in front
of the table top.
They usually carried the ones required
by the mission, and a full set would be
required only in long range international
application.   I saw a B-17 in 1955 in
Alaska that had a full set.   Frequencies
such as 4495, 6440, and 9320 were
ATC, so it didn't take many TU's.
In special situations they could borrow
a TU, and strap it down someplace.
