It seems to me from what I've observed that the RAK/RAL series was
the closest thing to being the "standard" receiving set on WWII USN
vessels. Even late war new-make submarines were using this series.
When did the RBA/RBB/RBC begin deployment in new ship construction?
At one time I would have called this series the quintessential WWII
USN receiving set, but I think available evidence shows that the
RAK/RAL earns that title with considerable margin.
