[Milsurplus] Radium and the USPS

Were all TBY radios painted with radium paint? I have seen two and found that they produce readings from up to five feet away on a Geiger counter. Way more than an aircraft instrument at 2 to 5 mR/ph and way beyond the 0.5 mR/ph the R-390 "warning" tagged meters produce. I know that just about everything blocks Alpha but what would happen if you ship a TBY thru USPS or UPS? Anyone shipped one lately?
