Thanks for all the replies,

One person asked about the contractor ID and other information on the
tags (there are three tags). I was surprised to find somewhat different
info on the two tags.

One tag says this is Model ABA-1; serial 4035; Contractor General
Electric Schenectady, NY; Contract NOs 82256 Feb 22, 1941.

Second tag says Type CG-43AAG; Serial 4935; Contractor General Electric
Bridgeport, CT.

Any other info that is on both tags is identical.

A third smaller tag says Accepted date 10-3-42; Placed in service
<blank>.

If that person wants more info from the tags I'll need to know what info
to look for. I know that some members of the list archive minute
details. That's how I now know for sure this unit used to be part of a
UHF IFF system for navy aircraft - by asking the people who have all of
that info. I misplaced my magnifying glass but selected bifocals that
allowed me to finally read the small print and the worn stamped
lettering on the tags with the light at the correct angle <evil grin>. I
wonder why this one unit has two serial numbers and identifies GE in two
different cities. I double and triple checked the serial numbers -
scratched my head, checked my bifocals again, set my beer down and
waited until I could feel my face again. Still two different numbers.
Still made in two different cities. Maybe on the complete unit one tag
referred to the power source which I understand to be a dynamotor. I
only have fragments of the radio.

Thanks for the help identifying the last remains of this unit. Now on to
repurposing the parts.

73,

Bill KU8H
