Hi to All my friends,
                      I prefer to have a good working equipment but  
the added value is "who" overhaul the rig, for example if you get (as  
I did) an R-390/URR or an R-389/URR overhauled from Rick Mish or an  
RA6790 or 6793 overhauled from Gary Wingerd you shall have an  
equipment really in pristine condition.
I bought an R-389/URR in good conditions years ago (if I don't  
remember bad fron Don Reaves W5OR) and I managed to have it shipped to  
Miltronix and I did the same for the RA6793 with Gary Wingerd, instead  
I purchase directly the R-390/URR from Rick and the RA6790 from Gary,  
in all cases I were really satisfied. In this way you can have a good  
working rig in like new conditions. This is my personal opinion.
