[Milsurplus] Moving gear across country

 I've heard of individuals working alone or as a small business that drive across the US picking up and delivering large items like jukeboxes , pinball machines , grandfather clocks and the like. Pick up and delivery is determined by when they will be in the area.
 Has anyone dealt with one of these operations and if so how did it work out for you. I have some gear that needs to be someday picked up in the Fargo ND area and hauled out here to the SF Bay Area. The person I'm getting the items from in ND cannot pack it up so this is why I'm asking. I would guess there are others here on the list that might benefit from this type of service.
