Yahoo has always had the option since dya one, whether or not the group 
owner turns it on is another thing.

: That is a real benefit, I think.

It can be.  On the other hand, I am on a group that regularly posts 5-10MB 
of images a day, a real PITA on 48K dial-up.  Most computer screens won't 
show much different between a 100KB image and a 10 MB image.  Back in the 
day is was verboten to post a .jpg over 30KB in size, nowadays people are 
just sloppy and inconsiderate.
