Well, OK, But the caption seems to say that the picture was taken in
the air on "patrol" so would there be a guard on board under such
circumstances who also doubled as the radioman? Still looks posed to
me which was common for released photos during the period (and
since). In the WW2 Radio News Signal Corps issues, for example, there
are Signal Corps provided pictures of GIs intently listening to
BC-312s and other radios that are clearly turned off.
All that aside, still an interesting picture.
