Contact Joe Walden, W5JDY, of Norman, OK. I sold
him my BC639 that I had owned since about 1965.
He was going to go through it. He works on lots
of old stuff as a hobby in his musical instrument
store.
I have copied him on this message!
And yes, the BC-640 was the "matching" transmitter.
I know that US Air Force used them and probably the
CAA/FAA as well. The 640 transmitter is a big and
heavy monster. Six foot (at least) 19" rack cabinet.

Subject: [Milsurplus] BC-639 Reciever..History?
Hi,
Anyone know much about the BC-639?
Would like comments about it as i now have one and
have it apart on the bench for cleanup.
I hear the matching TX was the BC-640, no confirmation.
Also, who used it and what time frame...?
Thanks folks,
