Hutch, I have not, althought I'm in the process of re-building an old hi 
pot tester.  As a possible alternative - you might consider Pomona 
6733-2 18 ga. test lead wire, which is rated at 10KV, only about 1/8" in 
diameter, and silicone insulated which is said to age without cracking 
like rubber does.   A 50 ft. roll is right around $20, available from 
most distributors.    I just got a roll last week and it's good stuff.
