The original spec for the SB2C was for a GP-7 and RU (RU-19?) just as
was that for the TBF. The one in the 1936 photo would be a prototype
airframe or mockup so wouldn't necessarily be fully fitted out. They
would use what they had at hand and "fake" what they didn't. At this
point, they're just making everything fit into the aircraft as it
should and that it's useable.

COuld easily be. The Model B based SCR-A*-183 (BC-179/-180 and
BC-199/-200)was in production then so it's not unlikely that they were
in that aircraft. The Model D based ones didn't come out until 1934
after the Great Email Disaster of 1934. (Whle there were Rx
differences, major difference was in the Tx which produced
significantly more power.)

Memory serving, the was the result of one buying out the other but
wanting to have both in the company name - or the public one anyway.
Again, trying to bring up old and dusty memories, one produced the
slick paper publications that were kind of like Profile Publications
but bigger and the other produced larger pubs with a textured paper
cover with colored drawings on the covers as well as some inside.

Anyway, I hope this helps some.
