I always read with interest and a bit of "what the heck ???" Marty's posts to the various lists.I would have loved to meet him, especialy in the way that Bob met him.
Does any one have a poigniant photo of the man in action? I would appreciate a face to put to the name and legend.
Regards and condolences to his family and many friends and aquaintences,
  Jay KE6PPF

ndeed, Nick.
I only "knew" Marty by way of his many postings on the various radio
eflectors over the years and always thought he'd be a neat guy to meet
n person. Two years ago I went to Dayton for the first time in ages
nd was wandering around in the middle of the day, everyone was pretty
uch kicking back, and I came across the guy with a couple of
nteresting radios. So I stopped, and we got to talking and the thread
f the conversation rambled all over the place on one topic after
nother until after about 15 minutes I thought it would be good to at
east introduce myself. As you've no doubt guess, it was Marty, and we
mmediately recognized each other from the internet and had a laugh
bout the "impersonal media".
I know he will be greatly missed by those who knew him well, as well as
hose of us who didn't, but would have liked to.
