The BC-624-AM and BC-624-C (SCR-522) used a 6H6 (actually a 12H6) in a noise
limiter and A.V.C. delay circuit, this wiring was not present in earlier
receivers . The modification was under the receiver and the tube was mounted
on a bracket at a 90 degree angle to the chassis. The SCR-522 receiver is
very similar to the BC-639.

Subject: [Milsurplus] BC-639 modification
| Hello,
|
| Does anyone know of a modification to BC-639 that adds a 6H6 tube? My
example, in Air Ministry paint job, has one. It shares MFP treatment with
the rest of the radio so I think a factory job.
