These restoration groups, as well as other groups I'm intertered in, such has amateur radio clubs and cold war exhilitors, are keenly aware of their public perception.

The problem is the people they attract now are, for the most part, old male baby-boomers who are dying off. They need to get younger people involved to continue to support their projects. If they don't get volunteers these exhibits will die off because of a lack of interest.

We have to take look at ourselves. I tried to interest a friend in ham radio. He listened to 80 meters for a couple of nights. What he got out of it was that hams tended to talk about their prostrates and diabetes blood sugar levels!

Public relations and new blood is essential if you want a organization to survive.

Seriously doubt that. Airshow folks in general don't tend to be

terribly political in that way. Those types tend to avoid airshows and

other places that glorify 'the machines of war' and such. Trying to

assign some reasonable explanation to a nonsensical decision makes

about the same amount of sense as the original decision. From the

little I've read on the Civil War, there was plenty of mistreatment to

go around on both sides. War is indeed hell, as they say.
