If it's a problem with oxidized contacts then I would think it unlikely
that you can fix it externally. It takes a remarkable amount of physical
abrasion to get oxidized vibrator contacts to make reliable contact (even
new, sealed, vibrators frequently have very high resistance contacts in
my experience).

I can't see what you have to lose by opening the can. A precision
mechanism that doesn't work isn't particularly useful. Also, if you find out
what has caused one of them to fail you may stand a better chance of
fixing the others.
