Greetings,
I am the culprit who started this thread with the following list

"Greetings,
I have a great looking ARC-5 40 meter receiver for sale. (6-9.1 mc) Black
wrinkle looks almost like new, plays perfect. Converted for easy operation,
it has a spinner knob installed, BNC antenna input and headphone jack all
professionally done. Filaments converted to 12 volts. Give it 12 volts and
+150 and you are there.125.00 + postal pound of flesh (about 25.00 east
coast, 35.00 west coast) picture on request."

I can't believe the stir one single word caused but for the record I chose
the use of the word 'professional' for two reasons------

The gentleman who did the conversion (now an SK) was an EE, a recognized
profession by any standard I am aware of.

More important, he was a first class human being.

Keith VE3TS
