[Milsurplus] "Professionally Converted Radios"

I'm surprised no one mentioned the professionally repurposed radios

processed by the California boat radio companies. I'm thinking the ARB,

BC-375, and maybe a couple three ADFs. Also "P.A.R." in Ballard/ Seattle,

modified the BC-456 into a power supply for a couple of their radios.

But it just occurred to me, oddly, that none of these conversions show

up advertised in "Pacific Fisherman" magazine of those years - a good

source of equipment photos if you like that kind of thing.

I have a BC-348 modified by "Propagation Lab, University of Washington",

and had another modified by Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS). Those

might also qualify as "professional conversions". -Hue Miller
