[Milsurplus] "Professionally Converted Radios"

I'm surprised no one mentioned the professionally repurposed radios
processed by the California boat radio companies. I'm thinking the ARB,
BC-375, and maybe a couple three ADFs. Also "P.A.R." in Ballard/ Seattle,
modified the BC-456 into a power supply for a couple of their radios.
But it just occurred to me, oddly, that none of these conversions show
up advertised in "Pacific Fisherman" magazine of those years - a good
source of equipment photos if you like that kind of thing.
I have a BC-348 modified by "Propagation Lab, University of Washington",
and had another modified by Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS). Those
might also qualify as "professional conversions". -Hue Miller
