Ralph,
Sorry for the loss....but, live and learn from the experience.
I've sold lots of stuff on the Internet on e-mail reflectors and the
Bay place. I always ship with some kind of delivery confirmation.
This is both for my protection as well as that of the buyer.
A few years back I sold a set of tubes to someone on the R-390
reflector. I shipped them USPS priority with delivery confirmation.
About 3 months later I get an e-mail from the buyer asking where
his tubes were. I checked the confirmation on the USPS website and
sent the confirmation number to him. He determined that they arrived
about the time his son was home for the summer from college....turns
out the kid had put the box on a garage shelf and forgot to tell
anyone about it.
Never, never, ship anything without delivery confirmation unless you
are sending it free of charge.
