They are doing it for two reasons:
#1, both PayPal & Ebay are a crooked as you can get, yet the have a retainer people smart enough to keep them out of Jail!
#2, people are getting very tired of getting ripped off via their Ebay purchases because, lets face it, crooks attact more crooks. As a result there is a extreme amount of credit card "charge backs" taking place. Paypal does not eat that charge back, they pass it on to you. I had a charge back once from a guy in France that took place a month after the sale. Seems he used his wife's credit card, he forgot to tell her, she contest it with the credit card company, there went $483 from my bank account & there was nothing I could do about!
#3, My FB is well over 2100, yet there has only been 35 star ratings. It's just more BS to make Ebay seems as though they are trying to be fair.

Did I say 2 reasons? well tuff, here's some more:
#4, yes, there is in progress an effort to thin out the casual sellers. Ebay is gearing towards an Amazon.com type selling format.
I could go on but I'll spare you.

If it's ham, or radio oriented, put it here, or QRZ, or QTH, or eHam, use Ebay only as a last resort. BTW, I was once an Ebay Power Seller myself. Today I'd rather take a beating than put an item on there.

I just listed an item on EBay, and there was a new section advising me that any funds received from a buyer

could/would be held for 21 days if processed by Paypal.



The exception would be if a positive feedback was received, OR EBay got
proof of delivery. Of course since they only allow USPS or UPS

tracking, it forces me into dropping FedEx ground which is better than UPS by far.



There are a few other ways to get money sooner, but I can't meet the requirements



for example I must have received 20 or more detailed seller ratings (I'm up to 13, even though I have a 900+ 

positive rating of 100%, because most people ignore the stupid 5-star part of the Feedback report)..



They've put so many obstacles in the way, that I can only surmise that this is being done to

1) collect interest on our money

2) they're in financial trouble, or see it coming



Is this an effort to get rid of us casual sellers? EBay is really after the Amazon market, IMHO.



I have a few shares of Ebay; for me it's time to dump them. They've lost their way.
