Hi, Guys,
As part of my major clear-out, I'm parting with a collection of distress beacons and associated items. Note that they are all located in the UK, but could be posted at cost, although the Gibson Girl in it's transit case, and the Test Set, are pretty heavy:
Gibson Girl distress transmitter in RAF wooden transit case
Ultra Electronics "SARAH" personal beacon (UK, 1960s)
Burndept Electronics BE310 "SARBE" personal beacon, including the 10.8 / 1.35 Volt battery pack, bright yellow (UK, 1982)
Radio Receiver-Transmitter RT-159A / URC.4 personal beacon. Hoffman Radio Corporation, red, yellow and stainless steel finish. There is a photograph of this unit in the August 2006 issue of Practical Wireless with some information on conversion to a 145MHz AM transceiver
Pye Dynamics ARI 23237/1 personal beacon: with separation cable so that battery can be worn remotely. Whip antenna on clip presumably for lifejacket fitting. Green finish.
Pye Dynamics ARI 23237/1 personal beacon: battery mounted on base of unit. Green finish.
Pye Dynamics ARI 23237/1 personal beacon: battery mounted on base of unit. Green finish.
Burndept Electronics SARBE BE.522 beacon. Modern unit in polycarbonate cylinder 400mm x 50mm. VHF/UHF, normally have strobe light in top but NOTE that this is a brand new, manufacturer's display model, and is empty internally

Test Set, Transmitter-Receiver (NSN 5825-99-952-6815) by Burndept. For all maintenance and pre-flight checks of "BE" series beacons. Has "RNAW Perth" calibration sticker dated November 1979.
Homing Indicator, by Granger Associates (original manufacturer Dorne & Margolin). Standard 82mm square aircraft instrument style, centred needle with "LEFT" and "RIGHT" indications.
Antenna Feed Network, Type DMSM6-4, by Granger Associates. Integrates aircraft VHF transceiver standard comms antenna, two DF antennas, to allow a standard aeronautical receiver to be used for homing. Purchased at the same time as the item abovem, but not known whether the two items are
compatible.
