SHIPS 242A says GF-11/RU-16 was procurred (first, primarily,???) for USMC.
They were installed in at least Stuarts and M3 Gun Motor Carriage (HT).
The M3 GMC found and restored by Mullins Jeep Parts carries the GF-11/RU-16.
The web site Hue listed the URL of say GF/RU were installed in Shermans. It
must have been the GF-12/RU-17.
I don't understand the comment on the web site Hugh listed about the TBX
and GF/RU not being able to talk to each other. Unless it was a snafu wherein
they didn't supply the right coil sets for the GF/RU. The Halftrack radio
installation instructions (didn't I get that from you, Hue?) say the
installation kit came with the CW-47138 (3675-4525 KC transmit) and CW-47072
(4000-6000 KC receive). The TBX covers 2000-5800 KC transmit and 2000-8000 KC
receive. I don't have anything this specific on the Stuart or Sherman
installations.
Hue, the PP-114/VRC vibrator supply for the BC-1000 came out early 1945.
The installation instructions (Signal Corps) for installing AN/VRC-3
(vehicular version of SCR-300) in the M4 Sherman and M5 Stuart show it with the
CS-128 battery box.
