Got a lot of good info on adding LSB to the PRC 74. Some thought I meant PRC 47 and gave me LSB info for this set. That's helpful too as a PRC 47 is on my shopping list.
The helpfulness of hams on this forum is very gratifying. Thank you all.
I may just leave my PRC 74 USB only now that I know there are mil gear nets using the "wrong" sideband on the lower HF bands. I see some historical merit in leaving it unhacked, and a lot of merit in being lazy about converting it to USB/LSB.
I think I'll spend that saved time working on my ART 13 so that I can get on the air with the ART 13? ARR 15 pair. I have an ART 13 dynamotor and after servicing the gunky bearings I fired it up. It is LOUD!
For others operating rotary LVDC-HVDC, how do you keep the acoustic noise out of your mic? Do you put the dynamotor in another room?
