Of course you're right - technically. However,
no one inside the Navy or outside referred
to their equipment by the contract number.
You could think of it as "the ARB's receiver"
if that makes more sense. But there was only
1 receiver to the ARB setup, so why not call
the receiver the "ARB receiver" ? A little
different is the situation of the RAX or RBM,
where you have 3 and 2 receivers belonging
to the set, so generally they're called like
"RBM-hf" and "RBM-mf".
The Army situation is different: the Army always
called their sets by the whole-set nomenclature,
so you can see in infantry memoirs talk about
the SCR-300 or "511 set" (SCR-511).
