Not so very much.  Consider that the GF/RU and SCR-A*-183/-283 both
remained in service through most of if not the entire war as did the
SCR-287.  Old technology, yes, but going into the war we used what we
had and saved a considerable amount of money not upgrading existing
installations.  A few were upgraded as some requirement or another
demanded but, by and large, it was "upgrade by attrition".
