Perhaps he's using that built-in suppressor grid modulator on the TBW that the USN
didn't think was needed for the aircraft GO version.  It's hard to believe that
things like the TBW and GO-9 existed in the same era as the ATC.  (Yes, I know
the ATC was extraordinarily expensive, but I bet the TBW and ATC weren't exactly
cheap.)

What I'd be interested in knowing is if Greg has the whole TBW, including the
intermediate frequency section.  If so, it would be a shame to ham-hack with any
changes.  They're too rare, valuable, and treasured when complete and in good
condition.  But with modification, they become common post-war ham "improvements".
