He may not share those views Dennis, more likely he may not even be
aware that there are groups out there interested in this stuff, or the
other viable options for operation, which gets back to my original
point that you highlighted:

Two things impress me about his videos: first, he knows a lot about
electronics, enough to address the anemic audio in this modified unit.
Next, and probably more important - he's proud of it,, and excited
enough about the stuff to take time to share his find and project with
anyone who will listen. I was there once myself.

Rather than telling him how evil/stupid he is for doing such things,
it's an excellent opportunity to bring in a talented individual who
obviously enjoys this stuff as we do. I don't have a Youtube account
either, but if that's what it'll take to send the guy some encourage,
suggestions, and guidance, I'll give it a go. Maybe he could care
less, or maybe when he sees a complete unit working as designed he'll
be intrigued enough to learn more. It's not like people are flocking
to old radios in general, or old military gear specifically.

The mods aren't the issue, the attitude is. He seems to have a good one.
