Gentlemen,
last weekend at the museum I came across what I would describe as a 2 section fuse box. There are 2 sections one has several standard automotive size push in glass fuses. The other section uses the glass push in fuse holders but they are half again larger than the first. The tag reads:

Signal Corp                            U.S. Army

                CASE   CS-47

Made by                    Western Electric

Any ideas where this would have been used and what it would have protected.
