Just an endorsement on that transformer...
I have a couple of them here. It's just what the doctor ordered for a
4-400A power amp,
and I'm using two of them in series to light the filaments in a twin
304TL modulator I've
got under construction... and in that application, there's 5 amps of
extra capacity.
These are getting hard to find at reasonable prices; anyone thinking
4-400A, 4-250, 304TL,
or any of the big glass 5 volt filament tubes should think hard about
striking a deal on it.
