I was in Salina, KS when they shut down Schilling AFB, a SAC facility, and had a friend that worked for a civilian
contractor to pack/move/dissassemble/destroy about everything. He was just getting into ham radio and told stories
of all the Collins gear that got bulldozed in at the disposal site. Incl'd KWM-2s, 30S-1 and 30L-1s. Apparently they
came from the repair lab, having been shipped in from other bases too.

All the Collins gear that was in the Atlas/Ageena missle sites however got stripped out at sent to California. It was
all S-Line gear and some Eldico stuff.

I could not get anywheres close to the stuff, he neither. All we got "liberated" was a large 24hr wall clock.

Makes one wonder where all those KWS-1's and KWM-2's went. I haven't
seen many of those on the surplus market.
