As John said, get the manual. I got a copy of the manual from Robert,
and it's indispensible in wiring the controls and maintaining the radio.
My ARB to control box cable was homemade by the previous owner and
it's ugly because the individual wires are all the same color and
gauge (#14) but the length is only 2 feet - and the whole "bowl of
spaghetti" is not encased in a sleeve. I'll have to completely rewire
it to look decent and use the correct gauges. If I recall, the manual
calls out the wire gauges and has an assembly drawing for the control
cables - I'll look at the book when I get home from work. Bear in mind
that the control box switches the primary 24 V feed to the
dynamotor/filaments so the 24 V line should be large enough to carry
the current without any significant voltage drop for the proposed
cable length. The other wires are just control wires, but the
bandswitch lines also carry some current at 24 V to the bandswitch
motor. I don't think it's more than an amp or so.
John, I've been looking for some tubing which has the looks of WW2
vintage rubber cable jackets. I was thinking along the lines of
thin-walled rubber tubing, but my search is unsuccessful.
I don't know what the Expando sleeve is, I'll look it up.
