[Milsurplus] US/A-1 (sic) receiver

Hi,

Glenn asked about a US/A-1 receiver.  

This type of device turn infrared into visible light.  I'm not familiar with this exact one, but like the US/B (type B) metascope, it uses visible light to excite a phosphor.  

Another model, US/AM uses radioactivity to excite the phosphor.  This item is really hot with alpha and gamma.  If you have one, get it behind some serious mass, or at some distance.

Used for signalling with filtered lights, and navigation with filtered beacons.

I sure would like a picture.
