The LG-2, 2-A & 2-B and LG-3 & -3-B fit every Signal Corps hand crank
generator that I know of from the GN-35 through the G-8A/GRC except for the GN-54
(which used three LG-3's).

My understanding is that when the MFP treatment first came into use the
varnish was in short supply and was applied to stuff going to the Pacific or
the CBI. It was only late in the War that it began to be routinely applied on
the assembly line. I've seen examples of MFP treatment done as late as
1953 on unissued components made as early as 1943.
