Sounds like the 'ole Motorola "Coffin Box" set. AC Version.
Had a mobile unit, 6V in a 53 Dodge, low band, 40Mhz range.
Had a pair of 807's in final, sure pulled the amps when keyed
the PTT.

Made by Motorola/Galvin, not sure of military designation, saw
a lot of them in '60s as were wideband and took quite a conversion
to narrow band them totally.  Think it was a VRC something.
