FWIW. I haven't much choice here but my experience only with VHT brand ex
auto accessory shops. used ordinary and their engine high temp. wrinkle
'Plus".

Experience also suggests that high temperatiure curing is the key to produce
fine results. I've done many front panels from BC-348 e.g-no problem.
indistinguishable from new. One or 2 thin coats gives fine wrinkle -
heavy coat., rougher wrinkle.

I bake in a kitchen oven preheated to around 100C. immediately after
spraying.

Our paint vendor says two coats 5 minutes apart. Application temperature is
also critical. Anything below 70 F and if you insist on trying it you may
as well lay in a supply of paint remover before you start.

Wrinkle finish paint requires a heavy build to work. It's essentially
impossible to get the required build in one coat without runs.

Over the years I've done lots of black wrinkle paint using three coats five
minutes apart, and putting it under heat lamps. I get a good wrinkle in 5
or 10 minutes, but the results have merely been acceptable, not really good,
usually varying from heavy and rough to barely wrinkled. I just tried a new
one - Eastman black wrinkle paint, with excellent results. Two heavy coats
three minutes apart and under the heat lamps, giving results comparable to
the good WWII stuff. Hallelujah!
