[Milsurplus] BC-348 Questions and Wants

Dave,

The BC-348-H, K, L and R were all made by Belmont.  If your nameplate is like 
the loose one I have here, it shows this but only if you know the codes.  Off 
and on through the War, various radio set nameplates show the Navy Contractor 
Code instead of the contractor's name.  Yours should have "CDL" in the white 
block toward the right end of the plate.  Why the Signal Corps used the Navy 
codes on some equipment I don't know but they did.

I'm pretty sure that I sold the last unbutchered cabinet I had quite a while 
ago.  However, I'll try to remember to look next time I'm over at Storage.  
There might be one that would make a better starting point for body filler than 
yours.  If no one else comes up with the thumb screw, I have several of the 
cover assemblies also in Storage.
