[Milsurplus] CRV 47192 Tuning Unit

Good Afternoon,

I was going through my surplus on a rainy Sunday afternoon and found a CRV-47192 tuning unit. I tunes in the range 3.0-9.05 Mc/s and was used in a CRV-52232 ATB transmitter. It  comes in a nice case, model CRV-10085 and was manufactured my RCA Manufacturing, contract date  Feb.23, 1942.

Could anyone enlighen me on the ATB transmitter and tell me what type of aircraft if was installed in? Which receiver was used with the ATB?

I purchased this in G&G radio, in downtown Manhattan, before they closed shop. I liked the case and was going to build a transmitter with the tuner but I was so impressed by the workmanship that I wisely decided not to modify it.
