Thank you all for your suggestions.  Can't bring my self to cracking off 
the knob.  Have resorted to using JB-Weld Epoxy and 4 Allen wrenches.  A 
dab of epoxy on the tip a bit on the sides carefully set in the set 
screw so not to get stuff on the threads on the side walls.  I will 
shorten the the Allen wrenches a tad by cutting off the set screws.
