Hi,
You can get small DC motors rewound. It's not cheap, but can be done. On the USS
Massachusetts there are several small Bodine motors used to drive the deflection
yokes on the PPI displays. For some strange reason, some of the field windings
are open. One is being rewound as I write this for about $180.
