[Milsurplus] ART-13

I have an ART-13 in wonderful shape. It is missing it's data plate. Is the
data plate the only place to determine the original serial number? This is
a TCZ set, and is not a A, B or AN/ART-13 model. The calibration book was
in the slot under the transmitter and does not have tuning data for 1KC
increments. The unit came wrapped in brown paper and had marking from
Corpus Christi, NAS.

Can some one send good pictures of a data plate for an early Navy TCZ
version of the ART-13. I have received a lot of great information from Mike
Morrow KK5F and Robert Downs WA5CAB. Your information is great.

Back in the 1970s the Richardson Wireless Klub (K5RWK) had their version of
the KKK. However, those initials stood for Klub Kludge Korps. That team
was responsible for things like using OSCAR on Field Day, the "natural
power" station for Field Day, and any other Klub activity that required a
"personal touch".

Excuse me, gentlemen, but let us not berate the concept of a kludge. I find
that an elegant kludge, while sort of a contradiction in terms to most, is
so wonderful approach to solving sticky problems that I fell into using
them, hence my nickname - Kludge. So, please, a little respect, if you
will. :-D

Greg,

The GO-9 doesn't use plug-in tuning units. What are the dimensions of this
thing?

Then there is the well-known CW organization called the Key Klix Klan.
(There's also some bizarre rock group by the same name.)

Is there an easy way to differintiate the different ART-13 models/variants
like the USN ATC, T-47/ART-13, AN/ART-13 and A versions?

Where can I locate documentation on the AN/ARC-8 and AN/ARC-25?

Hi Gang,
Have an old cloth helmet, part number AN-H15 equipped with receivers
ANB-H-1. I would like to find the "bail-out" cable with connector as well
as a set of goggles and oxygen mask. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Please reply off-list. Many thanks, Cliff

The bail-out cord is CD-307 or CD-307-A. Fair Radio might have a few left
but you need to make sure that what they send you has the male plug marked
"PL-55" and not "PJ-055B". The latter will be post-war, probably late 50's
or 60's
production. They also came in lengths from that I know of 36" to 120". You

probably want the 65" one, which fortunately was once the most common.

Last time I asked, Fair was out of them. Columbia has them for about $15
on eBay.
