[Milsurplus] What's with the R-96/ SR

You have it correct, Richard.  I know of two - one in the Chicago area 
and one in my basement ;-)   There was one for sale at Dayton also, 
don't know who the seller was.

Boulevard Electronics was an electronics distributor on Jackson 
Boulevard in Chicago (hence the name),   that announced this kit in 1953 
for $69.50.  It's six bands cover .49 to 19 mhz using 11 tubes including 
a pair of 25L6s in the audio output.  No  power transformer so it could 
operate from AC or DC.   According to Ray Moores book, "Assembled from 
surplus parts from a US Coast Guard contract".   Definitely not an R-96, 
but similar in functionality.

None of  the Boulevards I've seen had a nameplate.
