Groups;
I've trying to finish up the project radios for this years Armed Forces Day
special event station. I have a Navy CDO-73004 800 Hz generator to power the
GP-7 (thanks to everyone for the suggestions on the AC meter). The generator has
a muffler that looks like a straight pipe that connects the exhaust manifolds
from the two cylinders. It runs pretty loud. There is a one inch tail pipe that
is threaded to take more pipe for the purpose of directing exhaust out of a
building or enclosed vehicle. Included with the generator when I got it was a
modern screw on muffler that would have gone on a lawn tractor and does fit the
threaded tail pipe of the generator. Can I use this additional muffler to quite
things down or would the additional back pressure make bad things happen like
burnt valves or cause the engine to stop running?
Thanks + 73
