TekTronix was post ww2 & employed a trigger ckt. that appeared in
England in ww2.

Which reminds me

We used radar analysis 'scopes called synchroscopes.  Unit generated pulse
train to trigger radar tx and start sweep.  Triggered scope took this
to more general use since detected pulse started sweep.  I've got a 
synchroscope in the crypt that'll I'll foto if asked.
