[Milsurplus] SLR-F Note

I see that the RMCA manual for the 4U radio unit, installed on Liberty
and Victory ships, could have the Scott SLR-R installed instead of the
AR-8506 receiver. It's no surprise that the manual only shows the overall
hookup and no further details on the Scott receiver. I don't know if they
both fit the same cutout in the radio bay; i thought they were different 
sized receivers.  The caption on the hookup diagram says, "MODEL 4U
RADIO UNIT with USMG furnished SLR-F receiver". I don't know what
"USMG" is. BTW, the hookup diagram calls for a doublet (dipole) receiving
antenna for the HF receiver. I would have thought that would limit best
reception on multiple bands, but maybe good enuff. -Hue Miller
