Consider this.  Tie wrap two to a plastic drink crate & put, say, a 3-turn
link in the middle.  Then find resonance w. a grid(fet)-dip meter.  If
it matches the half-wave length then there's no inside coils.

If it doesn't, bring on the wierd science.
