I believe I read in QST back in the 60s that US Hams were able to monitor Rommel's Panzer
maneuvers in North Africa in the early days of US involvement (ca 1942-43?) on 28 Mcs or so.
Probably occurred during the runup to the sunspot peak just before the '56-'57 grandaddy. Anyone
able to corroborate with appropriate citations, etc.?

-There was an article in Popular Communications around 1995, i think. Still have it "somewhere".
It was about Panzer traffic being heard in E Coast USA. Not too much fact, but it wasn't total
fluff. However, with 10m propagation the way it was, i think it would have been more "unusual
episode" rather than anything dependable. And i sincerlely doubt it was anything more than
interesting, as compared to "useful".
