There was a movie about the Gobi Desert stations,
"Destination Gobi" with Richard Widmark.

Don't know how factual it is, but I think I'll
rent it, to see how good it is, and of course,
check for radio content.  Should be a good way
to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon.
